PRP Facial

PRP facial.

Platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood and applied through microneedling — for collagen stimulation, texture refinement, and rejuvenation. Performed by Dr. Cecilia Rusnak in Kissimmee, Florida.

PRP facial platelet rich plasma session at Healing Skin

A PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facial uses your own blood as the treatment serum. A small sample is drawn, processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich fraction, and applied to the skin through microneedling. The platelets release growth factors that stimulate collagen production, accelerate skin remodeling, and improve overall tissue quality.

The Procedure

Your body’s own growth factors.

The treatment begins with a routine blood draw — typically 10–20 mL. The blood is processed in a clinical centrifuge for about 10 minutes to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells. While the plasma is being prepared, your skin is cleansed and topical numbing applied. The plasma is then introduced into the upper dermis through controlled microneedling across the treatment area.

Because the serum is your own platelets, there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The growth factors trigger fibroblast activity, collagen synthesis, and capillary remodeling — the skin’s own renewal process, intensified. Results build over the following weeks as the collagen response completes.

What to Expect

A blood draw. A short treatment. A gradual result.

Step 01

Consultation & Blood Draw

A brief skin evaluation followed by the blood draw — quick and routine, similar to standard lab work. Total time including consultation is about 30 minutes.

Approx. 30 minutes
Step 02

Treatment

While the plasma processes in the centrifuge, your skin is prepared and numbed. PRP is then applied through microneedling across the treatment area. Most patients describe the sensation as mild — a pressure rather than pain. Total treatment time approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Approx. 45 minutes – 1 hour
Step 03

Recovery & Series

Mild redness and pinkness for 24 hours, occasionally light flaking over the first few days. Results build gradually — most patients see noticeable improvement at three to four weeks. A series of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart delivers the strongest cumulative effect.

Who This Procedure Serves

For patients seeking collagen, texture, and natural renewal.

PRP facials suit patients with general signs of aging, fine lines, dull texture, mild scarring (including acne scarring), and overall reduced skin firmness. The treatment is particularly useful for patients who prefer treatments using their own biology over synthetic actives.

Not appropriate for patients with blood disorders, on blood-thinning medication, with active skin infections in the treatment area, or who have recently completed certain immunosuppressive treatments. Pregnant and nursing patients should defer this treatment. Dr. Rusnak will review medical history at consultation.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Does the blood draw hurt?

It’s a standard venous blood draw — similar to having lab work done. Quick and routine. The processing afterward (centrifugation) takes about ten minutes.

When will I see results?

Initial freshness and brightness are visible within a few days. The deeper effects — collagen stimulation, texture refinement, tonal improvement — build over three to four weeks as the skin completes its remodeling response.

Can I combine PRP with other treatments?

Yes. PRP combines well with glycolic facials, Powder Botox, and other rejuvenation treatments. Dr. Rusnak can build a multi-treatment plan if you have specific goals.

Is there any risk because it uses my own blood?

Since the serum is your own platelets, there’s no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The blood draw and processing follow standard clinical protocols. The microneedling component is the only minor risk factor — addressed with proper sterilization and aftercare.

How often should I do this?

A series of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart for initial results. Maintenance every six to twelve months afterward, depending on goals.
