Microdermabrasion · Mechanical Exfoliation
Microdermabrasion.
Mechanical exfoliation that resurfaces the skin for brighter tone, smoother texture, and refined pore appearance. A controlled, non-invasive clinical treatment with minimal downtime.

Microdermabrasion uses controlled mechanical exfoliation — fine crystals or a diamond-tipped wand — to remove the uppermost layer of dead skin cells. The result is immediate surface brightness, smoother texture, and refined-looking pores. It’s a clinical-grade exfoliation that goes meaningfully beyond what at-home products can achieve. There is more to it than smoother skin — explore the benefits of microdermabrasion.

The Procedure
Mechanical resurfacing, controlled depth.
Dr. Rusnak’s team uses medical-grade microdermabrasion equipment with controlled pressure and depth settings tuned to your skin type and goals. Treatment begins with a thorough cleanse, followed by the resurfacing pass across the treatment area. The skin is then soothed with calming serums and finished with SPF.
Single sessions deliver immediate brightness and texture refinement. For pigmentation concerns, texture issues, or significant resurfacing goals, a series of four to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart delivers cumulative results. Maintenance every six to eight weeks afterward keeps the effect.
What to Expect
Immediate result, cumulative series.
Consultation
Skin type assessment and treatment depth selection. Often combined with the first treatment in the same appointment.
Treatment Session
Cleanse, microdermabrasion pass, soothing serums, and SPF application. Total time approximately 30–45 minutes. Skin will be mildly pink for a few hours.
Optional Series
For pigmentation or texture concerns, 4–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart for cumulative results. Maintenance every 6–8 weeks afterward.
Who This Procedure Serves
For patients seeking brightness, smoothness, and exfoliation.
Microdermabrasion suits patients with dull skin, mild surface pigmentation, congested pores, mild texture irregularities, and patients preparing the skin for events or other treatments. Effective as a stand-alone treatment and as preparation for deeper interventions.
Not appropriate for active acne flares, open lesions, recent sun damage, recent retinoid use, or active rosacea. Patients with very sensitive skin may need a gentler protocol — Dr. Rusnak’s team adjusts depth and pressure accordingly.
Frequently Asked
Questions, answered.
How often can I have this done?
Every two to four weeks for a series, then every six to eight weeks for maintenance. The skin barrier needs time to recover between sessions.
Will I peel?
Light flaking is possible for a few days afterward as the skin completes its turnover cycle. The dramatic peeling associated with chemical peels does NOT occur with microdermabrasion.
Can I combine this with a chemical peel?
Yes — but with appropriate spacing. Combining the two too closely can over-exfoliate the barrier. We coordinate timing carefully.
How soon will I see results?
Immediate brightness and smoothness after the first session. Cumulative effects — pigmentation refinement, sustained texture improvement — build across a series.
Is SPF really necessary afterward?
Yes. Microdermabrasion increases the skin’s sensitivity to UV for several days. SPF 30 or higher every day, particularly during the first week.
