Massage therapy
Therapeutic bodywork and recovery support.
Massage at Healing Skin, from relaxation and deep tissue work to post-surgical and lymphatic support. Each session is shaped to what your body needs that day.
Six modalities
More than relaxation.
Relaxation and therapeutic massage
Restorative massage that releases everyday tension and supports overall wellness. Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes.
Deep tissue and trigger point therapy
Focused, deeper pressure for chronic tension and the trigger points that refer pain elsewhere.
Post-surgical and scar-support massage
Manual therapy that supports healing tissue and scar mobility after surgery, performed with clinical care.
Lymphatic support therapy
Gentle, rhythmic techniques that encourage lymphatic flow and reduce fluid retention, valuable during recovery.
Prenatal massage
Adapted positioning and pressure for second and third trimester back, hip and sciatic discomfort, with obstetric clearance where needed.
Integrative pain-relief support
Bodywork delivered alongside acupuncture care through AcuMedGroup for clients managing ongoing pain.

Post-surgical lymphatic drainage
The protocol after surgery.
After liposuction, body contouring surgery, breast reconstruction or abdominoplasty, the lymphatic system is disrupted and inflammation accumulates. Our manual lymphatic drainage protocol typically begins five to ten days after surgery, two to three sessions a week for the first weeks, then weekly to the six-week mark, coordinated with your surgical team.
Questions
Before you ask.
How is medical massage different from a spa massage?
Medical massage focuses on clinical outcomes, such as pain reduction, post-surgical recovery and lymphatic support, and is performed by licensed practitioners with anatomy and pathology training.
Do I need a referral?
No. Massage therapy is direct-access in Florida. We recommend clearance from your surgeon for post-operative work and from your oncologist for active cancer treatment.
How many sessions do I need?
For acute issues, four to six sessions across two to four weeks usually produce measurable change. Chronic patterns are maintained every two to four weeks. Post-surgical recovery follows the protocol above.
Does insurance cover massage?
Most commercial insurance does not, except within specific physical therapy regimens. Some HSA and FSA accounts can be used for medically indicated massage with documentation.
What should I wear?
Most massage is performed draped under a sheet, undressed to your comfort. For prenatal, post-surgical or specific therapeutic work we may ask for loose clothing.

Take-home support from Dr. Rusnak Wellness.
Physician-formulated skincare and aftercare from Dr. Rusnak’s own line, chosen for this procedure.

Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer with Retinol
A retinol-driven body cream that picks up where therapeutic, deep-tissue, and manual lymphatic drainage sessions leave off. It firms, smooths, and reinforces collagen turnover on stretch marks, slack skin, and treated body zones — use nightly to extend your in-clinic results.

Healing Support SPF 40
Healing Support SPF 40 is the daily UV armor we send home with clients receiving therapeutic, deep-tissue, and manual lymphatic drainage sessions. Broad-spectrum mineral SPF prevents pigment shift, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and premature fading — apply every morning, reapply mid-day.
